Shiatsu

Originated in Japan it incorporates Traditional Chinese Medical Theory following Meridian Pathways and using acupressure points to give symptomatic relief and address the underlying cause of ill health.

It is a hands on therapy, usually taking place on a padded mat with the client fully clothed.

Literally translated, Shiatsu means ‘finger pressure’.

This leads on to working with pregnant women, birth preparation classes and baby shiatsu. Heidi has worked in different areas including HIV and Schools, and now has a practice in Bath, Avon. A map for the Bath Shiatsu Practice is available HERE.

Heidi has been doing bodywork since 1993 and with 10 years experience working with Aromatherapy and Reflexology, has focused on Shiatsu since starting her training. Heidi completed her practitioner training with the Bristol School of Shiatsu in 2001. Registered with the Shiatsu Society, she went on to do a postgraduate course with The Well Mother Organisation and is currently teaching with Suzanne Yates.

Heidi is now teaching at all levels at the Bath School of Shiatsu and Yoga.
